Although there is no union social service office, there are a few organ organizations under social service. These institutions do various social service work.


First step government allocation announcement District-wise allocation of funds from the Ministry of Social Welfare of the Government of the People's Republic of Bangladesh to financially support the needy and elderly people. The matter is intimated to the Municipal/Union Parishad through sub-allocation letter from City Social Services Office. Through this letter it is mentioned how many people will be given age allowance. After receiving the sub-allocation letter to prepare the list of distressed people in the second step, the mayor convened a special meeting in this regard. Quota of public representatives was determined in the meeting. According to the fixed quota, the public representatives are asked to give the list of people eligible to receive old age allowance in their respective areas within a certain period. The public representatives identify and prepare a list of such people in their respective areas and submit it to Despas within the stipulated day. Third Step List Finalization After receiving the complete list, each ward committee meeting is convened. A ward committee consisting of 5/7 members is formed with the concerned ward councilor as the president. The list is finalized after the selection is done in the meeting. After that, the list is sent to the social services office of the city.
